School Community Violence Prevention Grantee, Mentoring and Parental Involvement Training

Synopsis: Provide a two-day workshop and follow-up technical assistance for up to 90 people from 17 Community Violence Prevention grant sites. The training is intended to help the participants either establish or enhance programs within the context of their own communities and to enable them to train and to directly involve other community members. Topics included risk-assessments (at the school level); the role for community involvement; and selection of prevention and intervention programs to minimize school violence. The workshop provided comprehensive community-based tool kits for all participants.

Prevention Community Alcohol and Other Drug Technical Assistance and Training Project

Synopsis: Provide technical assistance and training to communities involved in alcohol and other drug abuse prevention efforts. Recipients include grassroots community groups, community-based organizations, county alcohol and other drug agencies, schools, religious organizations, and law enforcement. TA and training are provided by staff and our large pool of consultants.
