Our mission is to foster safe, healthy, engaged individuals and communities by promoting evidence-based and culturally responsive practice. We are dedicated to building the capacity of the prevention and mental health workforce and advancing the field by bridging the gap between research and application.
Vision
CARS will be a leader in educating, supporting, engaging, and building the capacity of the prevention and mental health workforce, and we will actively contribute to the knowledge base and advancement of the field.
Our Work
CARS leads state and national training and technical assistance (TTA) centers for initiatives mental health, substance abuse prevention, cultural competence and health equity, school safety, mentoring, and other areas that promote community health and wellness. Through our work, we have supported hundreds of organizations that serve children, youth, young adults, families, and diverse and underserved communities.
