Projects I Support:
Get to know me
I am a queer and trans white settler and documented foreign worker who has dedicated my career to promoting health equity, racial, and gender justice. I bring deep knowledge of qualitative research and evaluation, including specific focus on transgender health needs and barriers. As a practitioner, I have developed and provided training and education on community needs assessments, program evaluations, harm reduction, trauma-informed, anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice frameworks.
Prior to joining CARS, I was part-time faculty with CSU Sacramento’s Division of Social Work. I also have extensive experience in non-profit management, program evaluation, and direct service, including having spent several years overseeing Gender Health Center, Sacramento’s Trans and LGBTQ-affirming behavioral workforce development program as part of the California Reducing Disparities Project. Prior to immigrating to the US, I worked as a participatory action researcher using arts-based methods in the gender-based violence prevention field. I have also supported white people to unlearn racism and promote mutual aid initiatives as part of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ).
I am

Co-Project Director, California Reducing Disparities Project LGBTQ TA Center (CRDP)
The LGBTQ TA Center provides no-cost technical assistance and training to six grantees funded through the California Reducing Disparities Project (CRDP) to implement and evaluate community-based programs that support mental health among California’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning populations. Over the course of ten years (2016-2026), TA Center staff and consultants will work intensively with the grantees to promote strategic planning, effective implementation, rigorous evaluation, successful scaling-up, and ongoing sustainability.
