Overview

The Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS) is responsible for providing no-cost training and technical assistance (TTA) for behavioral health prevention in California through the Advance Behavioral Health California (ABHPC) project. As part of the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Big 5 by 2025 initiative, ABHPC focuses on using evidence-based strategies and best practices in primary prevention, as well as utilizing an approach that centers the social drivers of health (SDOH). In addition to TTA services, ABHPC supports the implementation of California’s Substance Use Prevention Plan (SUPP) and California’s workforce development program for prevention professionals, Prevention Pathways.

The ABHPC project serves behavioral health prevention professionals and organizations across California.  Attendees join from a variety of roles and settings, including:
